Another Ranked Foe; Hofstra To Take On #20 Maryland On National Television

The Hofstra men’s basketball team will take on its second nationally-ranked opponent of the season on Friday when it travels to face #20 Maryland.

Tip-off from the Xfinity Center is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will air nationally on FS1.

WRHU (88.7) will also provide an audio-only broadcast of the game with a 6:15 p.m. pregame showing. That broadcast will air on the HAWC.

Links to the broadcast and live statistics can be found on this page and on the men’s basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is 1-2 through three games playing an incredible schedule that has featured #15 Houston, Duquesne, and Iona all on the road. The Pride dropped an 82-74 decision to the Gaels on Tuesday despite 20 points from graduate student Jalen Ray in his debut.

Maryland is 3-0 on the year heading into their game on Wednesday evening against George Mason. The Terps have defeated Quinnipiac, George Washington, and Vermont to open the season.

Friday’s game marks the sixth all-time meeting between Hofstra and Maryland with the Terps capturing all five of the previous encounters. The teams first met during the 1981-82 season and the most recent contest occurred during the 2018-19 season with Maryland earning an 80-69 victory over Hofstra.
