Fordham Stars Tim DeMorat and James Conway Earn Patriot League Football Weekly Honors

Fordham senior quarterback Tim DeMorat and freshman linebacker James Conway were named GEICO Patriot League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, when the League office announced honors on Monday.

In a 34-21 come-from-behind Patriot League win over Lehigh on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, DeMorat, the Patriot League preseason offensive player of the year, accounted for all five Fordham scores. He completed 24 of 40 passes for a career-high 401 yards and three touchdowns and ran three times for 16 yards and two scores. It was his fifth 300-yard passing game of the year.

On the year, DeMorat, who earned weekly honors for the fifth time this fall, completed 171 of 287 passes for 2,368 yards and 24 touchdowns. He leads the Patriot League, and is fourth in the NCAA FCS, in touchdown passes and leads the League and is tenth in the NCAA in passing yards/game (296.0).

Conway finished with a season-best 21 total tackles on Saturday, nine solo, including 0.5 for loss. He also forced a pair of fumbles. It was his sixth straight double-digit tackles game.

On the season, Conway, who has earned four Patriot League weekly honor this fall, is second on the team with 97 total tackles, 46 solo, including four for loss. He also has an interception and four forced fumbles. He leads the Patriot League and is second in the NCAA FCS in total tackles/game (12.1) and lead the League and is seventh in the NCAA in solo stops/game (5.8).

The Rams return to action on Saturday, November 6, as they travel to Washington, D.C., to face Georgetown University for a Patriot League game on Cooper Field at 12:30 p.m.
