Washington Mystics unable to block the Sun, 85-75

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following Washington Mystics Post Game Press Conference from 8/31. This was after the team’s 85-75 loss to the Connecticut Sun. Video features thoughts from Head Coach Mike Thibault and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Ariel Atkins.

The Washington Mystics needed Sun Block in the team’s 85-75 loss to Connecticut in WNBA action on Tuesday night.

Washington were unable to contain Jonquel Jones and Brionna Jones, who were able to combine for 53 points to lead the Sun to the team’s longest winning streak.

One of the leaders in scoring for the Mystics was Shatori Walker-Kimbrough who had 16 points. Other highlights from the night included Myisha Hines-Allen, Ariel Atkins who both had 16 points and Natasha Cloud who had 12 assists.

One of the things that hurt the Mystics in the losing effort was the fact that they were outrebounded by a margin of 38-20.

The Mystics who are in the Ninth Spot in the WNBA standings will have to keep fighting if they want a coveted spot in the WNBA Playoff hunt.

Up next for the ladies they will be on the road to take on the Minnesota Lynx for a game that will be held on September 4. The tip between the Mystics and the Lynx is 8:00 p.m.
