Gotham FC extends Unbeaten Streak with Draw against Portland

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following Post Match Press Conference featuring Head Coach Freya Coombe along with stars Allie Long and DiDi Haracic (in no particular order)

The Odds have been stacked against Gotham FC this season, and thus far the team has risen to every challenge, while also earning some huge points throughout the NWSL Season.

One of the biggest few points earned was the most recent, as the team traveled to Providence Park for a draw against the Portland Thorns. Gotham FC now has 13 points on the season after eight games.

Things were fast and physical between the two squads, with Portland earning the first scoring opportunities of the match. Those chances were denied by Gotham FC keeper DiDi Haracic along with the New York defense.

Gotham FC had a wonderful opportunity of their own as Ifeoma Onumonu, but that was blocked by the Portland post.

Overall Portland had more chances as they were able to outshoot Gotham by a total of 22-10. There was a bit of a milestone moment for Gotham FC as Estelle Johnson has now logged 10,000 regular season minutes.

Up next for Gotham FC the ladies will be on the road as they will head to Washington D.C. on Sunday July 18 for a match against the Washington Spirit at Segra Field. The ladies will return to Red Bull Arena on July 25 to take on the Chicago Red Stars in a match that is set for 5:00 p.m.
