Washington Mystics earn big win against Seattle, 87-83

The Washington Mystics earned a huge victory against the Seattle Storm, by a final of 87-83 in WNBA action on Tuesday night.

Leading the way was Tina Charles who had a game-high 34 points, 16 rebounds and five assists. Charles became the first player in WNBA history to record consecutive 30 plus points and 15 plus rebound games.

Charles now joins some elite company in Tina Thompson and Candace Parker as the only players to record 30/15/5 in a game. This was also Tina’s sixth 30 plus point game of the season.

Leilani Mitchell also saw some great scoring opportunities, finishing the game with a season-high 19 points, while also recording a team-high seven assists. The Mystics as a whole had a great passing game on display, as the team had three players who had five or more assist in Mitchell, Charles and Ariel Atkins.

Another highlight for the team in their victory over Seattle was the fact that the team was aggressive in their rebounding opportunities, as the ladies were able to grab 12 offensive rebounds. This is the seventh game that the team has been able to grab 10 or more offensive rebounds.

The Mystics will next be in action on Thursday night, as they will take on the Los Angeles Sparks in a game that is set for 10:30 p.m.
