Injury bug hits Mets, who look to rebound against Colorado

Things have not been easy for the New York Mets (21-20) who have had their fair share of injuries. Manager Luis Rojas has been making the best decisions that he can in having the team stay competitive in what is a very tough National League East standings.

In the team’s most recent action, the Mets were able to win only one game over the Miami Marlins on Friday, May 21. Since then, the team fell to Miami and started a three-game stretch against the Colorado Rockies on a losing note.

New York saw a 3-2 loss against Colorado on Monday, seeing the injury bug plague the team yet again. The team is in such an interesting predicament that catcher James McCann is playing first base for the first time in his career.

On the injury list are stars like Michael Conforto, Jeff McNeil, Carlos Carrasco, and Noah Syndergaard to only name a few. The most recent name to hit the injury list was Johneshwy Fargas, who has an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.

The Mets are currently looking to their Minor League teams, to see who a potential solution can be to assist them in staying afloat until those who are on the injured reserves make their return.

1495 Sports is proud to bring the following New York Mets Press Conference featuring Catcher James McCann from 5/24:

The Mets and the Rockies continue their three game set at Citi Field tonight (Tuesday) with a game scheduled for 7:10 p.m. with anyone wanting to watch the game can do so on the SNY Network. On the mound for New York will be Jacob deGrom (3-2) who missed two starts because of right side tightness. deGrom had been pitching well in his rehab assignments down in Florida. For Colorado Kyle Freeland looks to earn his first victory.
