Baltimore Orioles Play well against Yankees in their Four Game Series

The Baltimore Orioles (11-14) took two games out of the four against the New York Yankees (11-14) in Major League Baseball action this week.

The series began on Monday, with the Orioles seeing a 4-2 victory over the Bronx Bombers. Baltimore’s bats got started early as Cedric Mullins lifted a homer to right field for the 1-0 lead. Freddy Galvis increased that lead with an RBI double in the bottom of the Second Inning.

Things continued a positive manner as Mullins lifted another homer in the bottom of the Seventh, which gave the team a 4-1 lead. The Baltimore Relief corps came in and was able to shut down the Yankees offense from there

Continuing to pitch well for the O’s gas been Matt Harvey who now has a 2-1 record, the Dark Knight as he is known was able to strike out five batters in six innings of work, as he continues to impress.

The O’s saw two back-to-back losses on Tuesday and Wednesday with the lone offense coming on Tuesday’s game thanks to an RBI single by Maikel Franco.

Baltimore concluded the home stretch with a thrilling 4-3 victory on Thursday. Trey Mancini got the offense going with an RBI single in the Bottom of the first. Mancini kept his offense going in the bottom of the Sixth with a homer to center field, that was able to tie up the game at 2 at the time.

Austin Hays recorded an RBI double in the bottom of the Eighth, which gave the home side a 3- 2 lead at the time.

New York feisty as always, was able to tie things up in the top of the Ninth Inning, thanks to an RBI double by Gleyber Torres.

Things went into extra innings and the O’s eventually earned the victory thanks to a sac fly by Mullins. The Yankees tried to challenge that play, but the play on the field stood and the O’s celebrated what was a big win for the team.

The Orioles will now go for a bit of a road trip, as the team will play three games in Oakland before heading to Seattle. The Series against the Athletics starts on Friday, with John Means taking on Mike Fiers. The game between Baltimore and Oakland is set for 9:40 p.m. with anyone wanting to watch the game can do so by checking out the MASN 2 network.
