The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were able to earn a 6-3 victory over the Hersey Bears on Sunday at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
The Bears were able to open the scoring thanks to a power-play goal by Philippe Maillet. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton answered back thanks to a goal by Chase Berger.
Josh Currie gave the home side a 2-1 lead on a rifle of a shot with 1:31 left in the First Period. The two teams went back and forth before Jonathan Gruden gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead.
Jon Lizotte and Anthony Angello were able to record goals as well to round out the scoring for the Penguins.
The Penguins were able to have several multi-point games from Jonathan Gruden (1G-1A), Drew O’Connor (2A) and Kyle Olson (2A).
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will next be in action on Wednesday, April 28 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Face-off between these two teams is set for 7:00 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
