The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins bolstered their roster recently by signing defender Dylan MacPherson to a professional tryout agreement.
MacPherson, 22, was a part of the team’s training camp on a PTO and was able to play six games for the Penguins during the months of February and March. MacPherson is a second-year pro and was a part of the team’s offensive unit that earned a victory against the Hersey Bears on February 24.
Dylan hails from Redcliff, Alberta and was able to spend the 2020-21 campaign with the Penguins ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers for 18 games. During that stretch, MacPherson was able to tally seven assists to go along with eight penalty minutes.
MacPherson has previous AHL experience has he has played for the Springfield Thunderbirds, as he was able to split his rookie season between Springfield and the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (ECHL). MacPherson was able to record an assist in four career games with the Thunderbirds.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will next be in action on Saturday, April 24 which will be a 1:00 p.m. game against the Hersey Bears.
