The UFC is geared up for their second fight night card that premiers on ABC. This event takes place tomorrow, April 10th. The early prelims take place on ESPN+ at 11:30 am, which is just one fight. The Prelims are on ESPN starting at 12:00 pm and the main card is on ABC at 3:00 pm.
The prelims are headed by UFC veteran Jim Miller (32-15, 1 NC) taking on the up and coming Joe Solecki (10-2). Miller has been fighting in the UFC since 2008, having many great wars in the octagon and is deserving of the legendary status that is given to him. Miller still has some left in the tank, as he won 3 out of his last 5 fights, all by submission. The newcomer, Solecki, is coming into this fight on a 5 fight win streak, his latest coming by way of rear naked choke. Solecki stated in an interview on media day that he has looked up to Jim Miller, since they are both from New Jersey, and that he has watched Miller fight since he was little. Solecki’s idol has became his rival, as he looks to take Jim Miller on tomorrow’s prelim.
The co-main event is probably the best fight on this card. The #10 ranked Featherweight, Arnold Allen (16-1) takes on #11 Sodiq Yusuff (11-1). Allen has yet to lose in the UFC, going a impressive 7-0 in the octagon. His last victory came by way of unanimous decision, as he dominated UFC vet Nik Lentz. Yusuff has also yet to lose in the octagon, going 4-0 since he signed with the UFC. Yusuff’s last victory also came by unanimous decision over a very tough Andre Fili. These two fighters are very similar, in record, in rank, in age, in height, and in reach. This fight will be a very close, technical bout, tailored to hardcore UFC fans.
The main event of the evening is a middleweight bout featuring #6 Marvin Vettori (16-4-1) and #10 Kevin Holland (21-6). Holland is filling in for Darren Till, who was recently injured in training and could not compete in this bout. Vettori is 4-1 in his last 5 fights, his last loss being to now Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya, by way of split decision. That loss lit a fire under Vettori and he has not loss since then, hoping to get a rematch with Izzy and a shot at the title. Holland is fighting on very short notice, as he fought March 20th, where he lost by decision to Derek Brunson. Before that loss, Holland was on a 5 fight win streak. Kevin Holland is looking to prove his loss was a fluke, by taking a short notice fight against a fighter ranked higher than him, and Marvin Vettori is looking to prove that he deserves a rematch with the champion. This fight is going to be awesome.
