MedStar Health Renewed as the Official Medical Team of the Baltimore Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles announced that the club has entered into a multi-year agreement with MedStar Health as the Official Medical Team of the Orioles. The team has chosen to continue their medical partnership with MedStar Health because of the expertise and specialization provided by one of the premier sports medicine programs in the country. The multi-year partnership will ensure that Orioles players continue to receive the highly specialized care of the MedStar Health team while the two organizations continue their off-the-field relationship serving communities and families across Birdland.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with MedStar Health, whose industry-leading sports medicine team keeps our athletes healthy and performing on the field each and every day,” said T.J. BRIGHTMAN, Orioles Senior Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer. “The alignment of our two organizations goes far beyond the playing field and the training room. This partnership is as much about giving back to the communities we serve as it is providing the highest quality of care to our players.”

“We take great pride in the continued trust of the Orioles to care for their players, staff, and the entire Birdland community,” said STEPHEN EVANS, MD, Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs, and Chief Medical Officer for MedStar Health. “Our physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists are some of the most highly skilled and specialized professionals in the industry, which is why MedStar Health is the region’s leader in orthopedics and sports medicine. The entire MedStar Health team brings that same level of passion and expertise to our equally important work with the Orioles in the community.”

As part of the partnership, the Orioles and MedStar Health will combine their efforts to celebrate National Nurses Week from Thursday, May 6 to Wednesday, May 12. The week-long event is one of many ways in which the Orioles and MedStar Health will show their appreciation for the extraordinary healthcare heroes who have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to keep the community healthy and safe.

The Orioles and MedStar Health will also continue to welcome the club’s youngest fans to Birdland with the Baby Birds program. Launched in 2019, the membership includes an Orioles bib and onesie for the newest generation of O’s fans. Parents of babies born at MedStar Harbor Hospital and MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center will enjoy complimentary enrollment in the program and will receive an exclusive Baby Birds beanie. Baby Birds memberships are available for $25 plus shipping and handling and are also available to be purchased as gifts for new and expecting parents.
