The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will head to Harrisonburg, Virginia, this week as the Pride looks to defend its Colonial Athletic Association title from the 2019-20 campaign.
Hofstra will open play in the tournament on Sunday when it takes on Delaware at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinals.

The entire CAA Championship will take place at the Atlantic Union Bank Center on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Tournament play gets underway on Saturday, March 6 with the first round and will conclude on Tuesday, March 9 with the championship game. The semifinals and title game, scheduled for 7 p.m., will all air on the CBS Sports Network.
Hofstra is 12-9 overall and concluded the regular season with an 8-6 mark in CAA action. Senior Jalen Ray is averaging 18.6 points per game, while senior Tareq Coburn is second with 15.7 and junior Isaac Kante ranks third with 13 points per outing. Kante is averaging a double-double with 10.1 rebounds per contest. Sophomore Caleb Burgess leads Hofstra with 5.6 assists per contest.
Delaware is 7-7 overall this season and finished the regular season with a 5-4 league record. The Blue Hens have not played since January 31. Delaware has a trio of players averaging in double figures as Ryan Allen leads the way with 15.4 points and is followed by Dylan Painter (13.4) and Kevin Anderson (11.4). Painter averages a double-double with 11.6 rebounds.
Hofstra leads the all-time series with Delaware, 62-34. The Blue Hens are the Pride’s most-played opponent all-time. Hofstra has won eight of the last 10 meetings and has won 14 of the 17 meetings dating back to the 2014-15 season.
