Baltimore Orioles win big against Braves 8-1

The Baltimore Orioles were able to break out their bats in a big way, as the team was able to defeat the Atlanta Braves by a score of 8-1 in Spring Training action on 3/3.

The Orioles offense got going thanks to a single by Jahmai Jones, who got the offense going in the top of the Third inning. That single was able to plate Chris Shaw which gave the O’s a 1-0 lead.

D.J. Stewart continued his fine hitting by blasting a homer in the top of the Fourth for a 2-0 lead. Atlanta was able to cut into that lead in the bottom of the frame thanks to an Ozzie Albies homer.

Baltimore regained their lead in the top of the Fifth thanks to a monster shot by Austin Hays, who ripped the ball to left center field.

Both teams played some great baseball and the score held until the top of the Seventh Inning. One of the highlights in that frame was a double by Adley Rutschman that gave the Orioles an 8-1 lead.

Rutschman who is the organizations top prospect is going to be an exciting player to watch for as the 2021 season progresses for Baltimore.

Wade LeBlanc, who returned to the team on a Minor League deal, had two scoreless innings in his spring debut. LeBlanc was able to sit down two batters is hoping to regain a spot with the team when they go back to Baltimore.
