Fast-Paced Fordham Women’s Basketball downs Saint Joseph’s 51-36

Using a fast-paced offense, that featured some great ball movement and wonderful overall play the Fordham University Women’s Basketball team downed Saint Joseph’s by a score of 51-36.

The Rams found a total team effort for their fifth straight victory. Thanks to this result Fordham has been able to improve to a 11-3 overall record and an 8-2 mark in the Atlantic 10 Conference, while St. Joseph’s falls to 5-6, 3-6 respectively.

One of the bright points was the Rams defense, who were able to shut down the Hawks offense to just 36 points on 27.8% shooting. Both teams played well, it was just Fordham who was able to use the extra pass for great ball movement, which helped in the victory.

Leading Fordham in the scoring column was Kaitlyn Downey, who had 15 points in 39 minutes. Anna DeWolfe impressed with her speed and explosive ball movement to the net followed with 13 points. Kendell Heremaia had 12 points to round out all scoring.

Fordham continues to impress with their rebounding performance, as the team was able to outrebound Saint Joseph’s 41-32, which includes an 11-9 margin on the offensive end.

Up next for the Rams will be a game against La Salle, which will be played on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. this will be the team’s annual Play4Kay game. It will also be Senior Day, as the team will honor their seniors prior to the start of the game. For anyone interested watching the game can do so by checking out ESPN Plus.
