The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins fell to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 2-0, in the team’s final scrimmage game prior to the start of the AHL Season.
Goaltender Emil Larmi had a solid showing for the Penguins, making 29 saves in the cage. Lami was in the zone early as he was able to make 10 saves in the first period of play.
Lehigh Valley recorded their first goal at the 8:45 mark of the second period, as Chris Bigras was able to find the back of the cage. Tyler Wotherspoon was able to record the second goal for the Phantoms.
For the Penguins they just were unable to cash in on their opportunities, especially during the power-play chances that they had.
Thankfully though the team was able to build a ton of chemistry and were able to get some great touches in prior to the start of the American Hockey League Season.
The action and the official start of the AHL season will begin on Saturday Feb 6, as the team is set to take on the Binghamton Devils at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. The action is set to start at 5:00 p.m.
