Sky Blue FC re-signs goalkeeper DiDi Haracic for 2021 NWSL Season

Sky Blue FC has signed goalkeeper DiDi Haracic to a new contract for the 2021 National Women’s Soccer League season. The terms of the deal include a one-year contract with a second-year Club option.

“I am grateful and excited to get the opportunity to continue doing what I love,” said Haracic. “After being a part of last year’s success, I am looking forward to getting back in with this talented group of women dedicated to pushing boundaries.”

Haracic, 28, joined Sky Blue in 2019 and has made six appearances for the Club, all starts. Prior to joining the Club, Haracic made nine appearances for the Washington Spirit and earned NWSL Save of the Week honors in Week 20 of the 2017 season.

“We are pleased to re-sign DiDi ahead of the 2021 season,” said Head Coach Freya Coombe. “DiDi is relentless in her hard work and continues to push herself and those around her to improve each and every day.”

Internationally, Haracic is a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Women’s National Team. She has made nine overall appearances after first being called up to the squad in 2018.

“We are glad to bring DiDi back in to compete with our fantastic group of goalkeepers” said General Manager Alyse LaHue. “She will continue to push the standards of the group with her vast domestic and international experience.”

Sky Blue FC begins the 2021 pre-season on February 1, with the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup set to kick-off mid-April. The team is preparing for a 24-match season in 2021, beginning in mid-May.
