Joel Soriano notched his fourth double-double of the year to be one of the leading scorers in the Rams tough 65-46 loss to the University of Massachusetts in Sunday afternoon College Basketball action.

The University of Massachusetts had a red-hot hand in the shooting department, as they were able to build a 44-15 halftime lead, which eventually turned into a 65-46 score in Rose Hill Gym.

Fordham now holds a 1-5 overall record, 1-5 A-10 Conference mark, while UMass improved to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Soriano had a total of 12 points and 12 boards to be one of the bright spots for the Rams offense. Sophomore guard Chris Austin followed with 10 points.

It was all about the University of Massachusetts, who was able to shoot an amazing 64.3% (9-14) from long distance over the first 20 minutes, while Fordham was held without a three-pointer in the half having a 26.9% (7-26) from the field.

Another bright spot for the Reams was the fact that they were able to outrebound their opponents by a tally of 39-37.

Fordham is hoping to rebound, as they will continue their Atlantic 10 season on Wednesday, January 20, as they travel to Davidson, N.C. to take on the Davidson College Wildcats in Belk Arena at 1:00 p.m.
