Sky Blue FC had a busy night during the 2021 NWSL Draft. During the first round, the Club selected UNC midfielder Brianna Pinto with the third overall pick, acquired $175,000 in allocation money for the fourth overall pick, and acquired $100,000 in allocation money and the 2022 natural second-round draft pick from the Washington Spirit. Sky Blue then acquired midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe from Racing Louisville FC as previously announced, selected midfielder Taryn Torres with the 23rd overall pick, drafted defender Delanie Sheehan at 33rd overall, and finished off the draft by selecting midfielder/forward Tess Boade with the 40th overall pick.
“It has been a fantastic day for Sky Blue during what was an extraordinary draft in unusual circumstances,” said General Manager Alyse LaHue. “Congratulations to all the draftees, especially to those we are so thrilled to have join our Club: Brianna, Taryn, Delanie, and Tess. Having the opportunity to also bring Jennifer Cudjoe back was a great bright spot on the evening.”
“I also want to commend the NWSL for all their tremendous work on putting this together and having an incredible broadcast and Draft experience.”

She has played on the international stage for the U.S. as a member of the U-15, U-17, and U-19 Women’s National Teams.
