Leilani Correa Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Sophomore guard Leilani Correa was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, after leading the St. John’s Women’s Basketball team past St. Bonaventure in its lone contest last week.

The 6-foot guard notched the second double-double of her Red Storm career on Tuesday, tailing 11 points and 10 rebounds against the Bonnies.

Monday’s award marked the third-straight week that Correa has been recognized by the league office for her standout play. The Manchester, N.J., native leads the Johnnies in scoring with 21.3 points per game to sit second overall in the conference and inside the top-30 in the NCAA. Dating back to her freshman year, Correa has turned in double figures in nine-straight contests, including a pair of 30-point performances this season.

In addition to her stellar scoring output, Correa is also averaging 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and a team-best 2.1 steals per game this year.
