Hofstra Men’s Basketball Faces Richmond On Tuesday

The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will conclude non-conference play on Tuesday when it travels south to face Richmond.

Tip-off from the Robins Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The contest will air locally on SNY and also be available on ESPN+. An audio-only broadcast, via WRHU (88.7 FM), can be found on the Pride Productions portal and on WRHU.org. Hofstra is 3-3 this season, having won two of its last three games. The Pride is coming off a narrow 77-69 loss road loss to St. Bonaventure as senior Jalen Ray poured in 28 points and junior Isaac Kante had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Tareq Coburn leads the team with 18.7 points per game, while Ray is second with 18.3 points per outing. Kante leads the team with 10.7 rebounds per game and is third with 12.8 points per contest. Ray enters the game with 999 career points.

Richmond is 6-1 this season and earned a 75-73 win over Loyola Chicago in its most recent game on Friday. Blake Francis and Grant Golden lead the Spiders in scoring this season with 16.4 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. Golden is also averaging seven rebounds per outing.

Hofstra and Richmond have met three times previously with the Spiders capturing all three meetings. The series began during the 1984-85 season and the squads last met on November 19, 2013, in an entertaining overtime contest. Richmond won that game, 74-63, despite 37 points from Zeke Upshaw.
