For her role in leading the St. John’s women’s basketball team past Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Raven Farley has been recognized by the BIG EAST for her efforts, earning a spot on the league’s Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her collegiate career.
Farley, a senior from Elizabeth, N.J., led all scorers with a career-high 20 points against the Knights, sinking eight of her nine field goal tries. The 6-foot-4 forward’s 88.9 percent clip from the floor leads the conference, and places her third overall in the NCAA for field-goal percentage.
Farley also converted on four of her five chances from the charity stripe.
In addition to her stellar scoring effort, Farley pulled down a career-best 11 boards to lead the Johnnies in rebounding.
Farley and the Red Storm will return to action tomorrow afternoon, welcoming Saint Peter’s to Carnesecca Arena for a 2 p.m. contest. The matchup between the Johnnies and the Peacocks will be available to live stream on ESPN3.
