The Hofstra men’s basketball team will start the 2020-21 season on Sunday, November 29, when it heads to the Garden State to face Rutgers at 4 p.m.
The game will air on national television on the Big Ten Network and WRHU will provide an audio-only broadcast available on Pride Productions and WRHU.org. There is no live on-line broadcast of the game.
The Pride’s original season opener at Monmouth on Wednesday was canceled due to a positive COVID test involving the Monmouth men’s basketball program.
Hofstra finished the 2019-20 season with a 26-8 record, capturing both the regular season Colonial Athletic Association title and winning the postseason tournament to earn the program’s first postseason conference title since 2001. The Pride became only the sixth team in conference history (since 1982-83) to win back-to-back outright regular season CAA titles.
Rutgers, which opened the season with an 86-63 win over Sacred Heart on Wednesday, went 20-11 a season ago. The Scarlet Knights will also face Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday evening.
This event is closed to the public. There are no tickets available.
