New York City FC Wins 3-1 Thriller over Montreal Impact

VIDEO: New York City FC Head Coach Ronny Deila and star Tony Rocha shares these thoughts after the clubs 3-1 victory over the Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer action on 10/25

New York City FC continues their fine play at Yankee Stadium with a huge 3-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Saturday Night. The Boys in Blue were able to keep their undefeated streak against the Impact, even though Head Coach Ronny Deila had to make some big time changes to his roster thanks to injuries and suspensions.

Since returning to the New York and New Jersey area the New York City FC club has been able to play a brilliant and attacking brand of soccer, which has led them to a Fifth Place spot in the Major League Soccer standings. The Home side were able to get two brilliant scoring opportunities in the opening frame of the match thanks to chances by Gary Mackay-Steven and Maxi Moralez.

Finding the back of the cage for the first scoring opportunity for NYCFC was Jesus Medina, who was able to cash in on some miscommunication from the Montreal Impact in the 68′.  Maxi Moralez, who was able to make his first start since the middle of September, also found the back of the cage finishing off a tremendous assist from Anton Tinnerholm.

The Boys in Blue wrapped up the scoring thanks to a goal by when Tony Rocha volleyed a brilliant goal in from a corner kick for his first goal for NYCFC,

If New York City FC continues this brand of play it seems as if they will have a chance for the Major League Soccer Playoffs, and the team is hoping to have tremendous play during that frame as well.

There is still plenty of regular season to go and opportunities to move up the MLS Standings. Up next for the Boys in Blue will be a road test against Toronto FC in East Hartford on Wednesday night at 7:30PM.
