St. John’s and BIG EAST to Host 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball East Regional at MSG

St. John’s and the BIG EAST Conference will host the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball East Regional at Madison Square Garden as announced Wednesday by the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee. Games are scheduled for March 23 and 25, 2023 at “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” the home court of the Red Storm for nearly 90 years and the site of the BIG EAST Tournament since 1983.

The road to the Final Four will run through The Garden for the third time in a span of a decade, as MSG will be the final stop in 2023 for one team headed to Houston to compete for a national title at NRG Stadium.

After a 53-year hiatus, the NCAA Tournament returned to Madison Square Garden in 2014 for the East Regional, which were the first NCAA Tournament games at MSG since 1961. St. John’s and the BIG EAST also hosted the 2017 East Regional and were scheduled to play host to the 2020 East Regional in Midtown. The 2023 NCAA Tournament Regional Final will be the 80th NCAA Tournament game held at Madison Square Garden in its storied history.
