VIDEO: New York City FC stars Sebastien Ibeagha and Sean Johnson share these quick thoughts after the club’s 3-2 victory over Inter Miami in MLS action on 10/3
It was a huge result for New York City FC in their 3-2 victory over Inter Miami. The Boys in Blue continue to play an aggressive, attacking brand of soccer and continue to get rewarded for their positive play on the pitch. Alexandru Mitriță scored twice with an Anton Tinnerholm goal capping off the eventual victory for NYCFC.
Inter Miami did not go down without a fight as they had two goals from Lewis Morgan to make the night a stressful one for the fans of NYCFC. New York was able to shut down the rest of the offensive opportunities from there, playing a whole half of stellar defense to walk away with three very deserved points.
New York City FC currently stands in Fifth Place in the Major League Soccer rankings and look to continue their great brand of soccer in this second edition of League action. Up next for the Boys in Blue will be a match at Yankee Stadium against D.C. United on Wednesday, with the match starting at 8:00 p.m.
This will be the first match for New York City FC in Yankee Stadium in more than a year, even though the team will be without their support group the team has always played very well in the Bronx. Thus far NYCFC has had four defeats in the last 57 matches at Yankee Stadium, and with the quality of soccer they are playing now the Boys in Blue are hoping to continue their climb in the MLS Standings.
