It was a successful 2020 Major League Baseball season for all of the league and especially for the New York Mets. Sure the franchise as a whole, who was so hoping for a playoff position did not reach that goal, at the end of the day the guys were able to play and even get in some development.

The Mets were able to see emerging stars like Andrés Giménez shine in his first Major League Baseball season, and fans of the Blue and Orange even got to see glimpse of what bats like Michael Conforto, Pete Alonso, Robinson Cano and others could so when things got really hot.

At the end of the day though there just seemed to be some sort of piece that was missing to the team, which ultimately led to the 2020 Franchise holding a 26-34 overall record.

There is going to be a ton of change coming now for the team, as they will be under a new ownership group. Now it will be possibly Steve Cohen who will step to the plate and will try to revive the magic that this team had in the 80’s when the likes of Gary Carter, Mookie Wilson and others were able to lead the team to the World Series Championship.

The deal with Cohen, who is a lifelong Mets fan is not official as of yet, so there are still a ton of questions with that; but one can be assured that once the deal between the Mets and Cohen is completed there will be new faces running the team. Questions like Who Will be the General Manager, Manger, who will even be on the team roster wise will all have to be answered.

Most likely to return to the squad will be in terms of the field positions players like Alonso, Conforto, Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis are all hopeful to make an impact at Citi FIeld next season and beyond. One of the biggest issues whoever is in charge of the team will face in 2021 will be the starting pitching and the bullpen. Two of the pitchers likely to return will be Jacob deGrom and David Peterson.

Whatever happens the boys in Blue and Orange should be really proud, as they really fought tooth and nail for this season to be a special one for themselves and for the fans who were watching at home. They were able to bring hope and joy back with their play and will be a team to watch for in 20201 and beyond.
