Team Effort Lead Mets to 7-6 Thriller over Orioles

VIDEO:  New York Mets stars Rick Porcello, Michael Conforto and Pete Alonso share their thoughts after the team’s 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in MLB action on 9/9

It was a total team effort that was able to help lift the New York Mets (20-24) to a 7-6 victory over the Baltimore Orioles (20-22) in Major League Baseball action on Wednesday. One of the key plays though for New York, was a ESPN Top-10 Highlight from Michael Conforto in the top of the Sixth Inning, which really was the difference maker.

Things were really rocky for the Mets, as starter Rick Porcello allowed 10 hits in four innings of work. One of the key hits for New York was a two-run shot from Jeff McNeil that cut the Orioles lead to 5-3 at the time. The offense continued to scratch and claw throughout the game as they were able to see contributions from Conforto, Pete Alonso, Robinson Cano, and Andrés Giménez that helped to lead them to the victory.

For Baltimore they continue to impress with their bats, as they saw offensive contributions from Renato Núñez, Ryan Mountcastle, Rio Ruiz and DJ Stewart.

New York will have a bit of a breather before facing the Toronto Blue Jays for three game, meanwhile the Baltimore Orioles will have a four game series with the New York Yankees starting on Thursday in the Bronx.
