New York City FC Wins 3-1 Thriller Over Chicago Fire

Continuing to play an aggressive and fast paced offensive style New York City FC earned a huge 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer action on Sunday. It is now two win within a week’s span for the Boys in Blue, who are playing really well since having left the MLS is Back Tournament.

Helping to lead the way on offense for NYCFC were goals by Keaton Parks, Anton Tinnerholm and Alex Ring who all lead the way on the offense. In a bit of a Milestone Moment for New York City FC, Maxi Moralez returned from an injury during the course of the match and recorded his 50th MLS assist.

The victory is a huge one for New York City FC, who is looking to climb the Eastern Conference standings, currently the club sits in Ninth Place with some really huge matches incoming to help them with their seeding.

Making some tremendous stops in the Goalkeeper position was Sean Johnson, who continues to show why he is one of the better keepers in Major League Soccer with his play both in the MLS is Back Tournament and now in the Second Stage of the MLS Season.

New York City FC will continue to play some really huge matches going forward, as they next play the New England Revolution on the road on Wednesday night. The Revolution currently sit in Sixth Place in the Eastern Conference standings, so a win for NYCFC would be a huge boost to the momentum of the team as this 2020 Major League Soccer Season progresses.
