VIDEO: Hear from New York City FC stars Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Keaton Parks react after a 1-0 win against Inter Miami in the MLS is Back Tournament.

The MLS is Back Tournament has been a thrilling one thus far, and it seems as if New York City FC is starting to get the momentum and confidence they need to have a successful run during the rest of their time in Orlando Florida.

New York entered the stadium in what was their third and final match of the MLS is Back Tournament group stages in need of a big win. They needed a positive result as a reward of the effort they have been putting in during their training sessions as of late, and they also needed a win to keep their qualification hopes of playin in the tournament alive.

Working hard throughout the match, the boys in blue finally were able to find a formula in scoring as Ismael Tajouri-Shradi scored a beauty at the 64 mark, to advance NYCFC to one of the third-place qualifying spots.

In the cage and playing brilliantly once again for New York was keeper Sean Johnson, who made some brilliant saves throughout the match. One of the highlights for Jonson came in the first 45’, making a couple of strong stops from Juan Agudelo and Jorge Figal headers on 10’ and 35’ respectively.

New York City FC was able to see positive play from Maxi Moralez, (making his 100th MLS Apperance) who is hopefully fully recovered from his quad injury. Keaton Parks also added some confident play to the offensive side of the ball .

Thanks to this victory the boys in blue are currently third in the Wild Card standings with three points and a -2 goal differential. As it stands, NYCFC do not know if they will remain in Orlando for the knockout stages of the competition with results in other groups dictating who will be the four third-place qualifiers.
