New York City FC Returns to Yankee Stadium with 4-1 Victory over D.C. United

VIDEO: New York City FC Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Gudmundur Thorarinsson share these thoughts after the team’s 4-1 victory over D.C. United in MLS action on 10/7 at Yankee Stadium.

New York City FC have won three in a row now thanks to a 4-1 decision over D.C. United in Major League Soccer action on Wednesday night. The Boys in Blue returned to Yankee Stadium in style, continuing to play an aggressive brand of soccer.

NYCFC was able cash on on a goal early thanks to a wonderful opportunity by Taty Castellanos, who scored on a penalty inside of four minutes of play. D.C. United was able to get a response thanks to a Ola Kamara goal as it was a naibiter between these two great clubs.

The Boys in Blue continued to press on the attack and was able to convert on a penalty kick by  Ismael Tajouri-Shradi at the 55′, the midfielder converted on another goal scoring opportunity at the 63′. Tajouri-Shradi had been very aggressive throughout the match creating some wonderful opportunities for the Boys in Blue and was rewarded for his amazing effort.

Keaton Parks completed the victory for New York at the 88′ as he headed a intelligent cross from Gudi Thórarinsson, to help New York to secure the victory.

New York City FC will look to continue their fine play at Yankee Stadium, as they will play host to the New England Revolution on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
