The Hofstra men’s basketball team will host local rival New York Tech on Friday at a special 5 p.m. tip from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
The game is part of a doubleheader with the Pride volleyball team as they will host Colonial Athletic Association rival James Madison at 7 p.m. from the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. Fans are encouraged to support both teams on Friday.

Hofstra is 1-2 and coming off an 86-71 loss at Bucknell on Wednesday. Senior Desure Buie led the Pride with 19 points against the Bison, while senior Tareq Coburn (14), junior Jalen Ray (12) and senior Eli Pemberton (10) joined him in double figures.
Pemberton leads the team with 16.7 points per outing, while Buie is second with 16.3 points per game. Buie also is averaging 6.0 assists per game and Pemberton has 4.3 rebounds per contest. Coburn is tops on the team in rebounding with 8.3 per game and fourth with 12.3 points per game.
New York Tech is 0-2 this season and plays against Nyack on Thursday night. Jeffrey Hayden is averaging 18.0 points per game and Brandon Renendo is second with 17.0 points per outing.
Despite being separated by less than 10 miles, Hofstra and New York Tech have never met in men’s basketball.
