Connecticut Signs Veteran Forward Kaycie Anderson

The Connecticut Whale have re-signed former Minnesota high school and Norwich University star forward Kaycie Anderson to a contract for her third season with the club.

“Kaycie has a great work ethic and dedication to our club, and we were very impressed with her speed and shot when she attended our Free Agency Camp earlier this summer,” said Connecticut general manager Bray Ketchum. “We believe she will take her game to the next level this season.”

Over four seasons at Norwich between 2011-2015, Anderson had 48 goals and 70 points for 118 points in 118 games. As a freshman, she broke every school rookie scoring record by going 23-27-50 in 31 games.

Anderson played five years of varsity hockey at Orono High School in Long Lake, Minnesota – earning team MVP honors three times. In her senior year of high school, her 71 points ranked fourth in the state. She also played in the Minnesota Crunch U19 program in Grand Rapids.

“I would like to contribute more offensively while keeping a well-rounded game,” said Anderson. “I am ready to step into any role the coaching staff needs me to play in order to make our team successful and bring the Isobel Cup to Connecticut.

“I am excited and grateful to be playing another season in the NWHL and for the Whale. I look forward to our new home in Danbury, the two trips to my home state of Minnesota, our awesome partnerships, and to continue to shine a bright and positive spotlight on women’s hockey with all the passionate players and staff who make this league possible.”
