KEY MATCHUP

Brittany Boyd and Courtney Vandersloot have proven to be two of the best facilitators in the league this season, as both rank top-seven in assists per game. The pair missed the season’s first matchup between these two teams, but they made up for lost time in the most recent contest with impressive passing performances. Vandersloot racked up 11 assists while turning the ball over just once, while Boyd finished with six helpers and zero turnovers.

LAST MEETING

On June 30, 2018, New York and Chicago combined for 202 points as the Sky bested the Liberty, 103-99.

Rookie Diamond DeShields led the Sky with 22 points, and she was one of just six Chicago players to score in double figures.

Tina Charles led the Liberty with 24 points, and Epiphanny Prince chipped in 21. The loss was New York’s fifth in a row.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER MILESTONE

With her seventh point of the game against the Sky on Friday, Tina Charles surpassed Tangela Smith to move into 17th on the WNBA all-time scoring list. The veteran now needs 54 points to move past former teammate Swin Cash into 16th all-time.

PIPH’S EMERGENCE

Epiphanny Prince’s season got off to a slow start as she worked her way back from a concussion. But over the past two games, the veteran has broken out, averaging 21.0 points per contest on 64 percent shooting from the field. She has also drained seven of her 10 attempts from distance over that span, and she has yet to miss from the free throw line this season.

IMPRESSIVE OFFENSE

Despite a pair of a tough losses, the Liberty offense has had impressive performances in each of the past two contests. Over that span, they’ve shot 50.4 percent from the field and 85 percent from the charity stripe while racking up 24.0 assists per game.
