Binghamton Rumle Ponies drop tough 12-3 decision to Altoona

It was a tough night at the plate for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (34-29), who fell to the Altoona Curve (30-28)  by a final of 12-3 in Minor League Baseball action at NYSEG Stadium. The Rumble Ponies recorded only six hits, while the Curve exploded for 13 hits.

Binghamton was led by John Mora who had two hits that included a Home Run, Jeff McNeil had a hit and an RBI . As for Altoona they were led by Will Craig who had three hits and five RBIs.  Ke’Bryan Hayes had three hits including a triple and Jason Martin had two hits that included a homer and plated in two runs.

Taking the loss on the mound for the Rumble Ponies was Joseph Shaw (1-4) ,  who pitched five innings giving up six hits, eight runs and four strikeouts. Earning the victory for the Curve was Eduardo Vera (1-0) , who worked seven innings gave up six hits,  three runs and sat down five Rumble Ponies Batters.

The series between Binghamton and Altoona continues tonight and tomorrow, and the team will have a road stretch at Hartford before returning to NYSG Stadium on June 22 to host Harford.
