Sky Blue Fight But Fall to Houston Dash, 3-2

The Sky Blue have been showing some major improvement under the new philosophy of Head Coach Denise Reddy, but still have not been able to obtain a winning result. The latest decision a 3-2 loss to the Houston Dash in NWSL action at Yurcak Field.

Houston was able to get on the board first thanks to a goal from Nichelle Prince in the 24th minute, as she connected from a pass given by Lindsey Agnew.

Sky Blue FC found a rhythm offensively in the Second Half of Play as Katie Johnson put in a hard roller at the 57th minute with an assist from Shea Groom . Houston would not go quietly though as  Rachel Daly scored in the 59th minute to give the Dash a 2-1 lead.

Johnson scored her second goal of the match at the 73rd minute, who headed home. a goal dished out from Sarah Killion. The Dash got the eventual game-winner at the 79th minute as Veronica Latsko finished a lifting assist given by Thembi Kgatlana.

It is still early in the season for Sky Blue FC, who are four matches into the season, while other teams have some more experience and time. The ladies felt positive about the direction they were going, and at least were able to find the back of the net on this night.

The next home match for Sky Blue FC will be on May 19 as they take on the NC Courage, with the match scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
