The Cosmos have now been able to extend their unbeaten streak to six games and according to Head Coach and Sporting Director Giovanni Savarese are becoming closer to what he hopes the team’s identity will be this season.

New York did a terrific job with keeping San Francisco off the board, while trying to get a goal in the First Half of play. It was in the Second Half that the hard work and effort of the team really showed.

Emmanuel Ledesma earned the  Emirates Man of the Match honors award after the match today, for his aggressive play in the midfield, which helped to create many opportunities for the team.

At the haf the team honored Midfielder, Danny Szetela, and goalkeeper, Jimmy Maurer for reaching 100 club appearances for the Cosmos this season. Szetela and Maurer became the third and fourth players with 100 games for the club in the Modern Era, joining teammates, Ayoze and Carlos Mendes, who reached the milestone last season.

The Cosmos will be on the road to play North Carolina FC on Sunday, June 4th at 4:00 pm.

The team will return to MCU Park on Wednesday, June 7 at 7:30 pm, as they host FC Edmonton.
