Cosmos Continue to Break Records and March to NASL Playoffs

The New York Cosmos keep on making history, breaking records and finding way to win big matches at Shuart Stadium.

In the most recent match on 10/22 the boys in green earned a 4-0 victory over Miami FC in the team’s final regular season home game. The result was the Cosmos’ 19th consecutive league match without a loss at Shuart Stadium, breaking their own record of 18 matches set between the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Goals from Jairo ArrietaYohandry Orozco (scored twice in the match), and  Juan Arango allowed for the Cosmos to complete regular season play undefeated (14-2-0) at home.

Cosmos goalkeeper Brian Holt earned his fourth start and kept his first clean sheet this NASL Season.

New York will have one last regular season match on the Road against Minnesota next Saturday, Oct. 29. Kickoff against United is set for 8 p.m. ET.

The Cosmos will have an opportunity to have a match at Shuart Stadium on November 5, as the team has secured the No. 1 seed in The Championship, the NASL’s four-team postseason tournament. More information on The Championship will be announced very soon, so fans are encouraged to stay tuned.
