The Brooklyn Cyclones had plenty of reasons to Celebrate in the 3-1 victory over the Lowell Spinners on 8/19.

First up the Franchise reached the Four Million Fan Milestone, becoming the first New York-Penn League team in history to reach the plateau and also the third in all of short-season history to make the mark.

Also with the victory and the good play on the field the team hopefully was able to wash away a six-game losing streak that was added on to a seven-game streak at MCU Park.

There was great electricity in the air as the fans in attendance were in for a treat with the  2nd Annual Civil Servant / Celebrity Softball Challenge presented by MCU which featured the WWE Superstars and Divas prior SummerSlam-which is happening on Sunday.

Sometime after that Manager Tom Gamboa was ejected from the game, all of it is explained in the 1495 Sports video Press Conference with the manager seen below.

Getting the start on the hill for the Cyclones as Tyler Badamo, who in his second game back from a groin injury only allowed two hits and one run over his six innings of work. The right-hander didn’t surrender a single hit after the second inning and struck out five on just 64 pitches. It was Badamo’s sixth quality start of the season and the fourth time he’s given up two hits or less in an outing.

Alfredo ReyesWill Fulmer and Vinny Siena all helped Brooklyn get a 3-0 lead in the Bottom of the First and the team never looked back from there.

These two teams will meet for Game Two on August 20th, as Kevin Canelon (4-4, 3.98) takes the hill for Brooklyn. The Start time for Game 2 is set for 7:00 pm, but all fans are encouraged to get to the park early for Jersday Thursday at MCU Park.
