For those who have never been to NYSEG Stadium for a Binghamton Mets game, it is definitely worth checking out when you get the chance.
Binghamton, who is the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets have a great venue to play in-a very friendly staff working in the park-in addition they also have the future of the Mets organization playing on a nightly basis.
Those who have had the chance to go to games at Binghamton have had the chance to see guys like Matt Harvey, David Wright and many others work their way up to the show.
On August 8, 2015 1495 Sports had the opportunity to cover and attend the rivarly game versus the Trenton Thunder (who are the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees).
Though the Trenton Thunder was able to earn the victory by a final score of 4-2, the 4,387 in attendance all had a fantastic time no matter who they were cheering for.
With fans getting foul balls whenever the players had the chance, to the players signing autographs prior to the game-the Binghamton Mets is a great time for all involved.
Joe Benson, Gavin Cecchini, Jared King, and T.J. Rivera all had mutlipe-hit games. L.J. Mazzilli and Vince Belnome both recorded hits.
Leading the way for the Trenton offense was Tyler Austin, who recorded three hits (including a solo shot in the 3rd Inning). Jake Cave had two hits to round out the offense.
In his debut for the Thunder starting pitcher Rookie Davis went 5.1 innings and scattering seven hits and striking out five without issuing a walk.
Both teams are in the mist of a thrilling Eastern League season. Binghamton will have a long stretch of road games coming, before returning home to NYSEG Stadium on August 18.
Trenton, meanwhile, will have three more games remaining before returning to Arm and Hammer Park on August 14.
