The Staten Island Yankees dropped a heartbreaker at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on August 6, falling to the Hudson Valley Renegades 4-3 in New York-Penn League action.
For the Baby Bombers, unfortunatley the trend of their starting pitching struggling early was found during the course of this game.
Starter Luis Cedeno went 4.2 Innings of work, giving up five hits, striking out four batters and giving up four runs (three earned).
The Yankees bats once again battled, giving the fans a thrill in the bottom of the 9th Inning. Sadly though the Renegades Relief pitchers were able to get the outs needed to get the victory.
Though the Baby Bombers dropped this game, they still remain in First Place in the McNamara Division.
Having a good day at the plate for Staten Island was Jhalan Jackson, who recorded three hits including a solo shot in the Bottom of the 9th to get the sticks going in the frame.
Junior Valera, Drew Bridges and Kevin Cornelius all had mulitple hits for the Yankees.
Staten Island will have an away game with Hudson Valley before returning home to host the Renegades on August 8. On August 9 the Yankees will host New York-Penn League rivlas the Brooklyn Cyclones for two before going to MCU Park on August 11.
