Mets Call Up Top Prospect Michael Conforto

The New York Mets on Friday have placed Michael Cuddyer on the disabled list and made the call to outfielder Michael Conforto.

Conforto who was drafted by the Mets in the First Round of the 2014 First- Year Player Draft (10th Overall Pick) started his career with the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2014 made his way to St. Lucie before eventually making his way to the Binghamton Mets and playing for them this season..

While with the B-Mets Conforto had a .312 Batting Average to go along with a .396 on-base percentage and .503 slugging percentage.

During the Week fo July 20 the outfielder was named Eastern League Player of the Week. He hit .438 (7-for-16) with 4 extra base hits (2 HRs), while also going 2-for-2 at the All-Star Futures Game that was held in Cincinnati.

Conforto, who will wear #30 with the Mets, will become the 53rd member of the Brooklyn Cyclones to get the call to the New York Mets. He will also be the First Member fo the 2014 Cyclones team to make the majors.
