Major League Lacrosse  announced today that Paul Rabil has been named the Warrior Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance against the Boston Cannons. Rabil finished Sunday’s game with three goals and two assists, helping lead the Lizards to a closely fought 15-14 victory over his former team. Coming out strong from the very beginning, he scored an unassisted two-point goal within the first two minutes of the game.

Since becoming a part of the New York Lizards team through a 2015 off-season trade with the Cannons, Rabil has scored 11 goals within four games for the Lizards. Compared to his average 1.4 goals a game last season, Rabil is netting more goals in the season thus far. Besides being named Warrior Offensive Player this week, he has also been named Coca-Cola Player of the Game in week three for his performance against the Rochester Rattlers and week four against the Cannons.

Prior to this season, Rabil has been generously rewarded for his athleticism in the sport of lacrosse. He has played for the U.S. Men’s National lacrosse team twice, is a seven-time member of the MLL All-Star team, six-time member of the MLL First-Team All-Pro, and has twice been named a MLL MVP, among other accomplishments.

With the first part of the home-and-home series against Boston won, Rabil is only two goals and 17 points away from breaking two of his all-time records: goals earned and points earned, respectively. He will have a chance to pass these milestones during the second part of the home-and-home series, when the Lizards return home this Friday, May 8th at Hofstra University’s James M. Shuart Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The first 1,000 fans at Friday’s game will receive a Lizards foam finger. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, call 1-855-NYLizards or visit NYLizards.com/Tickets.
