The New York Liberty will prepare for its 19th season in franchise history with a trio of preseason games.
The Liberty’s lone appearance at Madison Square Garden during the 2015 preseason features a matchup against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. The event marks the Liberty’s annual School Day game, which will include a special guest speaker at halftime that will address the students with an anti-bullying message.
The Liberty open their exhibition schedule against the Chicago Sky at the University of Delaware in Newark, Del. on Friday, May 22 at 7 p.m. The preseason schedule concludes at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Monday, June 1 at 7 p.m. with a game against the Minnesota Lynx.
The Liberty will also hold a special scrimmage against the China Olympic Women’s Basketball Team at the MSG Training Center on May 30. The scrimmage is part of a series of competitions the Chinese Team is playing against WNBA teams in the U.S. this spring.
The Liberty in 2015 have been fortified with a re-charged roster, led by a pair of hometown players in 2012 WNBA MVP Tina Charles at center and recently-acquired guard Epiphanny Prince. The 2015 season will mark the club’s third season under Head Coach Bill Laimbeer, a three-time WNBA Champion as a coach during his previous stint with the Detroit Shock (now Tulsa).
During the home portion of the regular season schedule, which kicks off June 5, the Liberty will host several exciting theme nights at The Garden. These include Dad’s and Daughter’s Day, Inspiring Women Night, Pride Day, Hoops for Troops, Breast Health Awareness and the annual Camp Day game, which is on July 15 at 11:00 a.m. against San Antonio.
