For the eighth-consecutive year and the 10th time in the last 11 seasons, the St. John’s Red Storm will be making an appearance in the postseason.  Following a regular season that saw the program reach the 20-win plateau for the second-straight year, the Red Storm has accepted a bid to play in the WNIT.

The Red Storm will kick off WNIT action on Thursday, March 19, playing host to Army in Carnesecca Arena.  Tip-off time has yet to be determined.

The 2014-15 season marks the Red Storm’s fourth-ever trip to the WNIT, with the program’s last appearance coming in 2009.  That season, St. John’s advanced to the Round of 16, downing Harvard and Hartford before eventually falling to Boston College.  The Red Storm also won two games in the WNIT in 2008 and picked up a victory in 2005, the program’s first appearance in the tournament.

The Red Storm enters the WNIT with an overall record of 21-10, having advanced to the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament for the second-straight year.  St. John’s also reached the 20-win mark for the fifth time in the last six years during the 2014-15 campaign.

The Red Storm finished fourth in the BIG EAST regular season standings, reaching double-digit wins in conference for the sixth-straight year.
