The Georgetown Men’s Basketball team won a thrilling 60-55 decision over Creighton in the Quarterfinal Round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Thursday at Madison Square Garden.
Leading the way in the scoring was Junior Guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who finished the night in double-figure scoring with a game-high 25 points. Smith-Rivera cored 12 of the team’s final 15 points in the Hoyas comeback victory.
Senior Center Joshua Smith had a strong showing for Georgetown with his 10 points, while also grabbing five boards.
With the victory tonight Georgetown improves to a 21-9 record, while Creighton finishes the season with a 14-19 mark.
The Hoyas advance to the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals on Friday, March 13, where they will take on Xavier with tip-off between these two teams slated for 9:30 p.m. This will be the 21st appearance in the semifinals for the Hoyas.
