The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will head to Williamsburg, Virginia on Wednesday as the Pride will look to return to their winning ways when they face William & Mary at 7 p.m.

Pride Productions will have live audio of the broadcast, with the pregame show starting at 6:45 p.m. The broadcast, which will also be available on WRHU (88.7 FM), will have Dan Savarino and Mark Weiner on the call.

Live video of the contest can be found at TribeAthletics.com.

Despite dropping three of its last four games, Hofstra (14-7, 5-3) is having a strong season led by the high-scoring duo of junior forward Ameen Tanksley and junior guard Juan’ya Green.

The Pride will need Tanksley to returning to the scoring form that saw him reach double figures in each of the squad’s first 19 contests this season. Tanksley scored just nine against Drexel on Wednesday and was held to five on Saturday versus James Madison. He still leads the team with 17.8 points per game and ranks second with six rebounds per outing.

Green is Hofstra’s second leading scorer at 17.3 points per contest, while also tallying team-highs of 136 assists and 31 steals. He also is averaging 4.8 rebounds per outing.

Sophomore guard Brian Bernardi and graduate guard Dion Nesmith are also in double figures with 12.2 and 10.2 points per game, respectively.

Hofstra went 1-1 last week, routing Drexel, 86-58, on Wednesday before dropping a close 69-63 decision to James Madison on Saturday. Green led the Pride with 16 points and seven assists, while senior forward Moussa Kone tallied his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jamall Robinson was also in double figures with 10 points.

William & Mary (12-7, 6-2 CAA) moved into a first place tie in the conference standings with a 78-62 victory over Northeastern on Saturday. The Tribe had four players in double figures in the win, led by 19 points from Omar Prewitt.

Marcus Thornton leads William & Mary with 19.1 points per game. He is joined in double figures by Prewitt (12.8), Terry Tarpey (10.7) and Daniel Dixon (10.6). Tarpey leads the team with 8.3 rebounds and has also dished out 69 assists to lead the squad.

This contest will pit two of the eight players nationally to notch a triple-double this season as Green had his for Hofstra against LIU Brooklyn on December 28 (15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists) and Tarpey had 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against James Madison on January 10.

Hofstra is 14-8 all-time against William & Mary, with all 22 meetings occurring since the Pride joined the CAA in 2001-02. The teams split the meetings over the last two seasons with each squad winning on its respective home court. Hofstra is 6-6 against William & Mary in Williamsburg.

Hofstra returns home after the William & Mary game and will host Towson on Saturday at 8 p.m. The game will be televised by the American Sports Network. Check your local listings for broadcast information in your area. The broadcast will not be available on television on Long Island, but will be available at GoHofstra.com/PrideProductions and CAA.tv.
