The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team will happily return to the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on Saturday when the Pride host UNCW at 2 p.m.

The game against the Seahawks will start a three-game home stand for Hofstra, which just finished a stretch that saw the Pride play three straight and six of its last seven contests away from home.

For ticket information to the UNCW game or any Hofstra home contests visit the brand-new HofstraTickets.com or call the Hofstra Athletics Box Office at (516) HOF-TIXX.

Pride Productions will have live video and audio of the game on Saturday afternoon, while the broadcast can also be heard on WRHU (88.7 FM). The WRHU broadcast, with Dan Savarino, Nick Valastro and Chris Buckley on the call, will have a pregame show starting at 1:30 p.m.

Hofstra (13-5, 4-1 CAA) saw its six-game win streak come to end on Wednesday in a 91-83 loss at Northeastern. Junior guard Juan’ya Green had his team-leading fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 assists, while junior forward Ameen Tanksley added 15 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double in 2014-15.

For Tanksley, the 15 points also gave him exactly 1,000 for his career, which spans his time at Niagara and Hofstra.

Senior center Moussa Kone had a strong game against the Huskies as he totaled 12 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots. The three blocks gave him 99 for his career and moved him into fifth place all-time in program history. With one more block he will join Greg Washington (275; 2007-11), David Taylor (178; 1979-83), Roberto Gittens (138; 1997-2001) and Adrian Uter (126; 2004-06) as the only players in school history with at least 100 career blocked shots.

Hofstra will look to return to the win column on Saturday as they already will be facing the Seahawks for the second time this season. Back on January 3, Hofstra rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit as the Pride outscored UNCW, 43-20, after halftime en route to a 68-56 win. Green and Tanksley each had 15 points for Hofstra in the win, while Nesmith added 11 and freshman forward Rokas Gustys pulled down 10 rebounds.

UNCW is 8-8 overall and 3-2 in league play. The Seahawks held a 20-point halftime lead over William & Mary on Wednesday before the Tribe rallied for a 76-72 victory. Freddie Jackson, who had 10 points against William & Mary, leads the Seahawks with 15.2 points per game. Addison Spruill poured in 33 points and added eight rebounds against the Tribe and is second on the squad with 13.7 points per game.

Hofstra leads the all-time series with UNCW, 17-14. The series began when the Pride joined the CAA in 2001-02. The highly-competitive series has seen Hofstra win each of the last five meetings between the teams, including this season’s earlier matchup. The Seahawks won the first eight meetings before the Pride earned its first win with a 74-68 victory in Hempstead during the 2004-05 season. Hofstra has won 12 of the last 14 meetings in the series. Head Coach Joe Mihalich is 4-0 all-time against the Seahawks.

Following the game against UNCW, Hofstra will host Drexel on Wednesday, January 21 at 7 p.m.
