It was a thriller of a finale between the Loyola (MD) Men’s Basketball team (4-7) and Fairfield (4-8) in the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at the Barclays Center, that saw the Greyhounds pulling out the 61-59 overtime victory in College Hoops action on Sunday.

In a game that saw 12 lead changes and Nine Ties, the two teams certainly impressed the fans that were in attendance.

The game-winner for Loyola came with nine-tenths of a second left as Guard Tyler Hubbard (Washington, D.C.) was able to save a rebound from going out of bounds and get it to teammate Franz Rassman (Washington, D.C.)  who had the nice finish for the team’s thrilling victory.

The win was Loyola’s second buzzer-beater of the season, both coming in New York City. The Greyhounds also beat Columbia University on a last-second Laster jumper on Dec. 2.

Hubbard had a great game for the Greyhounds, as the Junior was one of two players in double-figure scoring, leading all with his 21 points. Tyler had a great night from downtown going 4-for-8 from the 3-point arc.

Christ the King product Andre Walker (Westbury, N.Y.)  had a good night finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds and five assist. Rassman rounds out the scoring with his nine points in the game, as the forward also had five rebounds and one block.
