Cyclones Break out Bats in 10-1 victory over ValleyCats

The Brooklyn Cyclones (38-30) had their hitting shoes on during the 10-1 victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats (43-25), as the offense broke out for 13 hits and the team circled the bases for a season-high 10 times in the game.

At first it had seemed the game would go the way of the ValleyCats, who are currently in first place in the New York-Penn League Stedler Division, as the visiting team plated an early first run to open things up.

Brooklyn responded in a big way recording back-to-back big innings in the bottom of the First and Second recording three and five runs respectively. The offense had the foot on the gas, adding two more in the bottom of the fifth, as the bats made solid contact throughout the game.

The Cyclones had four players with multi-hit games, as returning Outfielder/Designated Hitter John Mora led the way with three hits in the leadoff spot. Mora who missed two games with an ankle injury, wasted no time getting himself back into the offense using his speed three times to steal a base during the game.

Also leading the offense was Michael Conforto with his two hit, three RBI performance. Tyler Moore continues to swing a hot stick tallying two hits and plating two, while  Michael Bernal rounded out the offense with his two hit, two RBI performance.

Cyclones Starter Marcos Molina (7-2) found his rhythm after the first inning, having another strong performance for the hosts. The righty tossed Six and Two-Thirds Innings, striking out eight batters, walking five and allowing only one run. Molina who was named the NYPL Pitcher of the week  has allowed two base hits over his last 13.2 innings on the mound.
