The rumors have been swirling around the Indy Wrestling World for some time now, and on Tuesday, August 12 it became official. Kevin Steen is now a member of the WWE NXT roster.
WWE NXT is the development center for all future Superstars to take the next step to the main roster, and there are many that feel it is a matter of time before we see the popular Steen on either Raw or SmackDown.
This signing continues a long trend of Ring of Honor stars who have signed with the WWE, though many fans are concerned as being at WWE NXT does not guarantee a ticket to the big time.
Steen who is a 14-year veteran has wrestled for some of the most elite Indy Wrestling Companies including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Combat Zone Wrestling has been on the WWE’s radar for quite some time and the move was made pretty quickly to bring the young lion up to the company.
Fans of NYC Indy Wrestling had the honor of seeing Steen wrestle for House of Glory during the Glory Brings Honor event that was held in August 2013, and did this interview for 1495 Sports with Brandon Lewis.
In the interview Steen talks about his match with Brian XL, the Semi-Finals of the Ring of Honor World Title Tournament and a message to the fans:
